Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan greased and lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 electric mixer

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, beat the melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and chunks, reserving a few for the top.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the center is set but still slightly gooey.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes. Lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.

Storage

  • Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 2 months.
