Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks and chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
