Equipment

  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl medium
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment paper and cut into 8 pieces. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Storage

  • Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
