Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan greased
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream the melted butter with sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix to maintain a fudgy texture.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter and sprinkle with half of the pecans and chocolate chips.
  • Spread the remaining brownie batter over the toppings. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle the rest of the pecans and chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares. Serve with a scoop of ice cream for extra indulgence.

Storage

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can also be refrigerated for up to a week.
