Equipment

  • 1 9-inch square baking pan greased and floured
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Peanut Butter Swirl

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp confectioners' sugar

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the brownie batter and use a knife to swirl it through gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for added indulgence.

Storage

  • Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
