Equipment

  • 1 9-inch round cake pan greased and floured
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Brownie Layer

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cheesecake Layer

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Toppings

  • Chocolate chips
  • Caramel drizzle
  • Crushed nuts

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth. Gradually incorporate the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy and fully combined. Pour this over the brownie layer and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the cheesecake layer is set with a slight jiggle in the center. Remove from the oven and cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  • After cooling at room temperature, refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours to set completely before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice the chilled bars into 8 pieces. Serve them on a dessert platter with optional toppings such as chocolate chips or a caramel drizzle for extra flair.

Storage

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, wrap individual slices in plastic wrap and freeze for up to 2 months.
