Equipment

  • 1 9-inch round cake pan greased and floured
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Decoration

  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • Fresh strawberries and blueberries

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before decorating.

Decoration

  • Divide the white chocolate chips into two bowls. Add a few drops of red food coloring to one and blue to the other, stirring until the color is even.
  • Once the brownies are cool, drizzle the colored white chocolate over them. Arrange fresh strawberries and blueberries on top in a decorative pattern.

Serving and Storage

  • Cut the brownies into slices and serve as a festive treat at your summer gatherings.
  • Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
