Equipment

  • 1 8x8 inch baking pan greased
  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Whisk until fully combined. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread the batter evenly across the pan.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Storage

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.

Notes

Pro Tips: For fudgier brownies, reduce the baking time slightly and cool completely before cutting. Ingredient Substitutions: Substitute some of the granulated sugar with brown sugar for a deeper flavor. How to Serve: Serve warm with ice cream for a decadent dessert. Storage & Freshness: Keep in an airtight container to maintain moisture. Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the batter ahead and refrigerate for a day before baking.
