Cake Batter

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water replace 1/4 cup with reserved peach syrup

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until combined and smooth. Pour this mixture into the prepared cake pan.
  • Evenly distribute the drained peach slices over the caramel mixture in the pan.

Cake Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and the water mixture. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Gently pour the batter over the peaches in the cake pan, spreading evenly.

Baking

  • Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the cake.
