  • 1 9x13-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Decoration

  • 1/2 cup red white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to smooth the top and ensure the dough is evenly distributed.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the baking dish. Once cooled, generously sprinkle the top with red, white, and blue sprinkles, pressing them gently to adhere.
  • Lift the bars out of the baking dish using the parchment overhang. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
  • Store any leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze.
