Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking pan greased
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 piping bag for icing

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Mummy Decoration

  • 1 cup white icing or melted white chocolate
  • 24 candy eyes

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually blend into the dry ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before decorating.
  • While the brownies cool, prepare your icing by transferring it into a piping bag with a narrow tip.
  • Once cooled, use the piping bag to drizzle the icing in a back-and-forth motion over the brownies to create a mummy effect. Add candy eyes to complete the look.

Serving

  • Cut the brownies into 12 pieces and serve on a festive platter. Ideal for Halloween parties or spooky-themed events.

Storage

  • Keep any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can also be refrigerated to retain freshness for up to a week.
