Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and maple syrup together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Smooth the top with a spatula to ensure even baking.
  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
