Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch cake pan greased
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 24 lollipop sticks

Ingredients

Cake Base

  • 1 box cake mix any flavor
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

Frosting Mixture

  • 1/2 cup canned frosting

Coating and Decorations

  • 2 cups candy melts in school colors
  • Assorted sprinkles

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions using water, oil, and eggs. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch cake pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely. Once cooled, crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup of frosting to the crumbled cake. Use an electric mixer to combine until the mixture holds together when pressed.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Insert a lollipop stick into each cake ball. Refrigerate the cake pops for 30 minutes to firm up.

Decoration

  • Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring in between until smooth.
  • Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, tapping gently to remove excess. Decorate with sprinkles while the coating is still wet.
  • Place the cake pops upright in a stand or styrofoam block to allow the coating to set completely.

Serving and Storage

  • Serve the cake pops as a delightful treat at your graduation party. They are perfect for guests to grab and enjoy.
  • Store any leftover cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
