Equipment

  • 1 9-inch square baking pan greased or lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Peanut Butter Swirl

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, whisking until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly after each addition. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix together creamy peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture onto the prepared brownie batter.
  • Use a knife to gently swirl the peanut butter into the brownie batter, being careful not to overmix. Pour the batter into a greased or parchment-lined 9-inch square baking pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing.

Serving

  • Once cooled, cut the brownies into 8 slices. Serve them on a platter for dessert or store them for later enjoyment.

Storage

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to a week.
