Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Using a small spoon, scoop out portions of peanut butter and roll into small balls. Set aside.
  • Take a tablespoon of dough, flatten it, and place a peanut butter ball in the center. Wrap the dough around the peanut butter, forming a ball.
  • Place the dough balls on a lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.

Serving

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm for a gooey center.

Storage

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a single layer before transferring to a freezer bag.
