Equipment

  • 1 9-inch square baking pan greased and lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan and line with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In another bowl, beat together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to maintain a light texture.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula to ensure an even layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift the brownies out of the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and serve. They can be enjoyed on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.

Storage

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week for extended freshness.

Notes

Pro Tips: Ensure to use a good gluten-free flour blend with xanthan gum for best results. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the brownies light.
Ingredient Substitutions: Coconut oil can replace butter for a dairy-free option. Use coconut sugar instead of granulated sugar for less processed sweetness.
How to Serve: Serve warm with ice cream or dust with powdered sugar for presentation.
Storage & Freshness: Keep brownies in an airtight container to maintain moisture and freshness.
Make-Ahead Tips: These brownies can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator to enhance their fudginess.
