Equipment

  • 1 9-inch baking dish greased
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 paring knife

Ingredients

Peach Filling

  • 6 cups fresh ripe peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Cobbler Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish and set aside.
  • Peel and slice the peaches, then place them in a large mixing bowl. Add the granulated sugar and lemon juice, tossing to coat evenly. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to macerate.

Cobbler Topping

  • In another mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
  • Pour the melted butter and milk into the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture forms a smooth batter.

Assembly

  • Spread the peach mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler topping over the peaches, covering them as much as possible.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Serving

  • Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Storage

  • Once cooled, cover any leftovers with plastic wrap or foil and store in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze in airtight containers.
