Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 cup red white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  • Gently fold in half of the sprinkles using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  • Using a cookie scoop, portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorating

  • Once cookies are cooled, press additional sprinkles onto the tops for extra color and decoration.

Serving

  • Serve these colorful cookies at your next festive gathering. They pair well with a variety of beverages and other desserts.

Storage

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze the cookies in a sealed plastic bag for up to three months.
