Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Add-Ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Cover the dough and chill for 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Serve these delicious cookies with a cold glass of milk or your favorite hot beverage. They are perfect for sharing with friends and family.

Storage

  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze the cookies in a sealed bag for up to three months.
