Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet lined with parchment paper
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Add-ins

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the dough to firm up.

Serving

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Serve warm for a gooey, delicious treat. Pair with a cold glass of milk or a hot cup of coffee for the perfect dessert experience.

Storage

  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. To enjoy warm cookies later, reheat in the microwave for about 10 seconds before serving.
