  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not over mix.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles using a spatula.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.

  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
