Equipment

  • 1 9-inch square baking pan greased
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Mix-Ins

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Gently fold in the shredded coconut and semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Transfer the batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove from oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Once cooled, slice the brownies into squares and serve as desired. Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or a glass of milk.

Storage

  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
