  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl large

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Decorations

  • 1 cup green frosting
  • 1/4 cup assorted sprinkles
  • 8 candy stars

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan. Spread the batter evenly.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before removing them and transferring to a cutting board.

Serving

  • Cut the cooled brownies into triangular shapes resembling Christmas trees. Use a piping bag to frost the top of each brownie with green frosting. Decorate with sprinkles and place a candy star at the top of each tree.

Storage

  • Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
