  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp chai spice mix

Preparation

  • Combine ground cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chai spice mix. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  • Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cupcakes to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • In a medium-sized bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, beating until smooth. Mix in chai spice mix.
  • Once cooled, pipe or spread the frosting onto the cupcakes. Garnish with a light dusting of chai spice mix if desired.
