Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cardamom, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the prepared batter into the greased and floured cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving
